PST-Problem Solving Team
Monday, September 21, 2009

PST is a school-based, problem solving approach to meet the needs of at-risk students in regular classroom settings.  The purpose of PST is to provide immediate aid through a PST plan for students in general education who are struggling academically and/or behaviorally.  The PST plans are implemented and progress-monitored in general education classrooms while determining whether there is a need for referrals to other programs.  The PST team members discuss issues related to specific individual needs of students and teachers and offer teachers assistance in resolving problems.  Through this team effort, referrals to programs outside the regular classroom can be significantly reduced.  After a PST plan is implemented, it is evaluated for effectiveness and suggestions are made for future recommendations.
