Congratulations to Collin Bendolph, National Merit Semifinalist. As a full IB diploma candidate and full UA student, Collin boasts an impressive 4.99 GPA, ranking him in the top 1% of the senior class. He has already earned 30 college credits and plans to major in accounting, followed by law school.

Today's shout out goes to senior Nadia Moore. Nadia is a National Merit Commended Scholar. This recognition places her in the top 3-4% nationwide on the PSAT/NMSQT. Nadia is a partial IB liberal arts student and a full UA student. She has an impressive 4.60 GPA and has earned 35 college credits so far.

Jamaya Irby is a current IB Junior and already has a 30 composite on her ACT. She scored in the top 10% on the PSAT/NMSQT among high school's test takers and the state's first-generation test takers. She has a 4.42 GPA and wants to become an English teacher.

Senior Naima Dortch is our 4th scholar to be recognized. Naima is a Commended Student for her score on the PSAT/NMST. Naima is a full UA student with an impressive 4.36 GPA and has earned 36 hours of college credits so far. She plans to major in Economics and aspires to become a Diplomat to South Africa. In addition, Naima is a certified rescue diver and participates in Youth International Cultural Awareness Program (Y.I.C.A.P), and Youth Diving With a Purpose.


The Pather Battalion had a busy couple of weeks filled with various activities. These include air rifle practice, attending the Academy of Excellence Conference, a visit from the Murphy JROTC robotics team to Callaway Smith Middle School, practicing platoon formation, and daily flag detail.
