JROTC

The Murphy High School JROTC Robotics team has officially qualified for the 2026 JROTC Robotics National Championship, held this year in Sandusky, Ohio. After a rigorous season of regional qualifiers, the "Panther Bots" are among the select few programs chosen to represent the state of Alabama on the national stage.

The championship, which brings together the top JROTC programs from across the country, tests students' abilities in STEM, teamwork, and strategic leadership. The Murphy High team has spent hundreds of hours designing, coding, and piloting their robot to meet the 2026 competition standards.

"This isn't just about building a robot; it’s about discipline and problem-solving under pressure," says SFC James Allen. "These cadets have shown incredible dedication, often staying late after school to perfect their designs. We are ready to show the rest of the country what Mobile is capable of."

The team will depart for Ohio on January 24, 2026, to compete against over 70 other schools.
