Recently students from our FCCLA chapter competed at the State Conference in Montgomery and represented our school with excellence. Addison Franz earned a Gold Medal for her Food Innovation project, “Viking Fuel: Sweet Potato Power Bites.” Through three test trials, Addison asked student athletes to sample the bites and provide feedback to help refine the recipe and create a nutritious snack designed to fuel Viking athletes. Kearstyn Murphy also brought home a Gold Medal for her Nutrition & Wellness project, “Fueling Wellness.” Her project focused on a 10-day nutrition and wellness transformation, where she developed and implemented a personalized wellness and nutrition plan using Mrs. Easterling as the test subject. We are incredibly proud of these students for their hard work, creativity, and dedication. Their projects highlight the real-world skills FCCLA students develop while promoting health and wellness in their community. 🏅

MGM had 15 students represented at the I-Lead Youth Conference sponsored by Mobile Area Education Foundation. We had speakers presenting powerful leadership messages from Mobile County Commissioner Merceria Ludgood- District 1 and also Mobile Mayor Spiro Cheriogotis . Very informative and collaborative breakout sessions. Even a little dance party while waiting on lunch. Excellent group of young leaders that represented us well.

MGM FBLA members had an opportunity to attend a Mobile County Commissioners meeting at the Mobile Government Plaza. Our chapter was recognized and we had an opportunity to learn about county government and how funds are allocated in Mobile County. We thank Mobile County Commissioner Connie Hudson for inviting us and we congratulate her for her new role as President of the County Commissioners. After the meeting, Commissioner Hudson spent time with the group, sharing insights into how Mobile County operates and answering their questions. It was a great experience engaging with local leaders serving our community.Thank you to Mrs. McArdle for our goody bags. #FBLA #CTE

There were 12 students that scored between the 96th and 90th percentile, designated as Rising Scholars. Three students scored in the 97th percentile or higher, which is designated as a Distinguished Scholar.
